SOCIAL WORKER/ ADDICTIONS COUNSELOR

Founded in 1984, Realization Center is the oldest and largest free standing, private chemical dependence treatment program in Manhattan that provides all levels of care from ambulatory detox, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient treatment to individualized therapy. Realization Center serves a wide range of clients including impaired professionals, adult & adolescent substance abusers, gay/lesbian individuals as well as dually diagnosed, MICA and HIV positive clients. We offer specialized treatment for men's women's and adolescent's issues, co-dependency, gambling, sexual compulsivity, food addiction/ eating problems as well as numerous trauma, family or origin issues, domestic violence, anger and stress management, school or job difficulties, family conflict, parenting difficulties, and relationship problems as they relate to substance abuse.

FOR MANHATTAN: (19 Union Square West-7th Floor)

Clinical Staff (LMSW's or CASAC's) to facilitate Adult Chemical Dependency groups, Adolescent groups, provide occasional intake assessments, attend daily interdisciplinary staff meetings and case conferences, participate in weekly supervision and training.

Some positions require knowledge and experience with MICA, and/or sex addiction, and/or gay/lesbian issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

LMSW or eligible LMSW/ CASAC, good assessment skills, experience with substance abuse groups, excellent engagement skills, ability to work in a fast paced environment. "FRIEND OF BILL'S" A MAJOR PLUS, non-smoker a plus.
